What is hellenocentrism? What is the content of the term ‘modernism’? Is modernism incompatible with the national element? Is the literary generation of the 1930s characterised by national introspection? Is Seferis hellenocentric? These are the questions the essays contained in this volume attempt to address, formulating an opposing argument to refute one of the main views of our criticism towards Greek poetic modernism.
